6 month check up!

Did I mention that Chloe Grace LOVES to eat?!! She is so silly these days. She is starting this new little thing where she squints her eyes and just smiles really really big! Yesterday we went to the doctor for our 6 month check up. Chloe Grace is very healthy and growing like a weed. She now weighs 14 pds and 9 oz and is 26 1/2 inches long! She is doing everything that she is supposed to do and she said she is very curious. We also found out that what we THOUGHT was a tooth, welllllllll really wasn't a tooth at ALL! Our doctor explained that what we thought was a tooth was called a mucus bubble ( AKA a Pearl) Ok.....So, I've never heard of this, but she assured me that it was not uncommon and would eventually pop and go away....so with that being said...my baby has no teeth!
That's ok. She still can take out some grub!

There's the close up again! Hope everyone has a great day!
Did I mention that I love being a mommy!? I think we need more! HA!

"Gorgeous Darlin"

You know that old show Green Acres when Eva Gabor says....."GORGEOUS DARLING"? Well, these pictures are just that! I just started what will hopefully be my future income so that I can stay at home. ( Thanks Angel for believing in me!) I'm looking into making baby stuff for my "boutique". This is a dress that I made and doesn't Chloe Grace model it so well? If you or anyone you know would like a dress please let me know. I have other things in mind that I will be posting about soon!

I love getting close ups of her little face. Her little eye lashes just keep getting bigger and bigger. I LOVE that!
We put on shoes for the 1st time I think since she was born. She has went bare foot all summer long, so she was a little curious as to what those things were on her feet! Isn't she just so sweet though?

HURRICANE and HAPPY BIRTHDAYS!

Hurricane season always brings and leery feeling since Katrina. We have several family members and friends come on up to get out of harms way. I must say, I myself thought this storm was going to be WORSE than Katrina. I just don't believe those levee's are ready yet, but as you know, most of the damage was down power lines and trees. I'm thankful that it was not worse! We enjoyed the company of our relatives and friends. We don't get to see them much, and I hate it was during these circumstances, but it was good times! Saturday night we all headed out to the local Logans steak house to hang out and get some grub for my nephews 18th birthday. I just can NOT believe these "kids" are grown now. It just doesn't seem right. Here is Gavin! The birthday boy, well MAN should I say! ( sorry for the blurriness)
And here is his lovely momma holding my sweet baby. Lori is Timmy's sister. We don't say half around here simply because I don't think there is any such thing. They have the same mom but different dads just to clarify. Love you Lori!

Someone actually got the camera and took a picture of all of us. That rarely happens! Ethan is such a lil goober. I think that may be a peanut in his mouth! He goes to town on those things!

And here is the rest of the clan. I believe we had around 20 people that night. Our service was not the best. We were there from 6-9 pm.....TOO long for me, but Pastor has been speaking on grace, and so I tried to give a little.

This is my sister-in-law Sheila ( Timmy's twin brother's wife) and nephew Jackson. This kid is a HOOT! You never know what he is going to say or do! Ask him for special "shuggies" the next time you see him! ;)

CHEEESE!!!!!!

This is my nephew Scott and his really sweet girlfriend. I'm so sorry Terisa, I can't remember her name, but isn't she a cutie!!

This is another nephew we really don't get to see but maybe once a year. Erin is Timmy's brother's son. Bobby ( Erin's dad) passed away about 6 years ago I believe. It was so tragic and unexpected. My heart just breaks for him and his sister. They have been through so much and sometimes I just feel helpless for them.

This is Amanda, Erin's sister and my two ya-whoo's. My girls are something else. I feel so old! Madi will be 13 in May and Tiffany will be 11 in November. JUST amazes me!

I pray all of you that are traveling back today, travel safely. We love you and hope to see you soon. Hopefully not under the same circumstances. We'll have to keep ours eyes out for Ike!

Flag football practice

Ethan started flag football last week. I must say, his daddy was more excited about this than I was. He played soccer last year for the 1st time and he was rather good at it. I was perfectly content letting him play that again this fall, but dad so no, "He's playing football!" So here we are at our 1st pratice. I really like his coach, he is silly with the boys and gets them all pumped up!
Miss Chloe Grace had to put her two cents in and was cheering brother on from the side lines. Can't you just hear her sayin, "GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Ethan GOOOOOOOOO!"
DEFENSE, DEFENSE, DEFENSE........... READY SET, and waiting for GO!

When I arrived at the field, dad was already there with him. I was a ways off from Ethan, but my eye was drawn to his mouth. I was like "what in the world is on his mouth!?" Timmy had to explain that was his mouth piece. OH?! Forgot they needed one of those. I mean DUH! I know, I'm such a Dori! Just keep on swimming!

This last picture does no justice to his little fast moving feet. Timmy was so excited after talking with his coach about his preformance for the day. Now, let me just say this, I like football and all, even though I have NO clue of plays, flags, or any of that other stuff, so Timmy had to make it A.B.C for me to understand. He advised me that Ethan was really fast when running and was playing the position of Reggie Bush! Isn't that a running back? Maybe? I don't know. Help me out here someone! This is going to be an interesting season to say the least. Maybe I will learn a few things so I won't feel like a complete idiot in the stands while I'm yelling "RUNNN ETHAN RUNNNNNNNNNN!!! ....and maybe just maybe, Ethan will be proud of me some day!

My little mans BIG day!

Here is my little man on his 1st BIG day!

Well, I always say, it's better to be late than never. I have so much I want to blog about, so I'll get started. (sigh) As you know, school has started and Ethan's 1st day was on August 20th. He was VERY excited to be going; in fact, he was SO excited about getting to ride the school bus, that he got upset with me when I told him that I HAD to take him on his 1st day. He insisted that he was a big boy and could ride this monster of a cheese wagon all by himself. I had to remind him that his big sister would be accompanying him and I assured him that there would be "eyes" watching at all times. I have really mixed emotions on this subject. This has been so bitter sweet for me. He went to Pre-K last year, and for some reason this year was harder for me. I'm not sure why? :( He has another FABulous teacher this year, just the kind he needs. Mrs. Worley is a sweet but very stern teacher, we like that! I know that this year is going to be a lot of fun, but certainly a lot of new adjustments. Do you know they have HOMEWORK? Geez! Can you spot him?!

How about just one more....would you look at all that hair?
Isn't she the most beautiful angel in the whole wide world?
